COVENANT 5 – PREACHING TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
The Coworkers of Christ embrace a global mission, driven by the Gospel’s call to spread the “Good News” and the teachings of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. This mission takes the form of establishing communities and carrying out ministries wherever we are welcomed.
However, respect remains paramount. Unlike some missionary groups, the Coworkers of Christ avoid disrupting existing efforts. We don’t want to compete with established churches, existing missionaries, or the unique spiritual expressions of the local people. Instead, we seek to integrate and collaborate.
Collaboration is a cornerstone of the Coworkers of Christ’s global mission. We actively seek to connect and cooperate with Christians of all denominations worldwide. Understanding that local contexts are crucial, we strive to understand and support existing efforts to build the “Commonwealth of God” – a global community united in faith.
Sensitivity to diverse traditions and customs is key. The Coworkers of Christ don’t seek to impose a uniform way of practicing Christianity. Instead,we focus on fostering a sense of community through shared religious vocations and worship experiences, while respecting the richness of diverse traditions.
Throughout our domestic and international endeavors, the Coworkers of Christ remain faithful to our core principles. Our vision, as expressed in our Common Rule, serves as a guiding light. It ensures a unified approach to our mission while allowing for the flexibility needed to respect local practices. Think of it as a shared foundation that allows us to build bridges of collaboration and community across cultures.
In essence, the Coworkers of Christ’s global mission is one of partnership and support. We bring our commitment to the Gospel and a spirit of collaboration, seeking to amplify existing efforts and build a more unified global Christian community that celebrates the richness of diverse traditions.
