COVENANT 7 – BROTHERS, SISTERS, SIBLINGS, AND ORDERS

COVENANT 7 – BROTHERS, SISTERS, SIBLINGS, AND ORDERS

Following the spirit of ancient monasticism, every member of our Community is dedicated to serving God and others. This ministry takes many forms, and the specific path each individual takes unfolds through discernment and prayer. We believe in fostering the unique gifts and talents of each member, so their advancement in ministry is a collaborative decision based on their strengths and the needs of the community.

To emphasize our shared purpose and equality, we address each other as “Brother,” “Sister,” or “Sibling,” regardless of position. While we hold the roles of ordained clergy in high regard – be it reverend, deacon, priest, or bishop – these titles do not translate to special privileges.  Scripture reminds us not to elevate one member of the Body of Christ above another (1 Corinthians 12:12-27).  Instead, we see ourselves as companions and coworkers on this spiritual journey, united in Christ and working together to fulfill our collective calling.
